What a psychiatrist adds
Many autistic children and adults already have therapists, teachers or support staff. A psychiatrist looks at the medical side: identifying co-occurring conditions, weighing whether medication could help with specific symptoms, and checking for medical issues that may be behind changes in behavior or sleep.
