ADHD Evaluation in Salem NH

An accurate ADHD diagnosis can change how a student learns and how an adult works. PsychNashua evaluates ADHD at our Salem office, looking closely at look-alike problems so treatment targets the real cause.

Signs that lead people to ask about ADHD

In children: losing homework, struggling to sit through class, interrupting, or being told they are capable but not trying. In adults: chronic lateness, unfinished projects, losing track of bills, restlessness in meetings, or relying on last-minute pressure to get anything done.

Our evaluation process

  • Standardized rating scales from the patient, parents and teachers or a partner
  • A developmental and school history, since ADHD symptoms begin in childhood
  • Screening for anxiety, depression, sleep problems, learning disorders and substance use, which can mimic ADHD
  • Review of past report cards or testing when available

Treatment options

Treatment may combine practical strategies, coaching, classroom or workplace accommodations, and medication. Both stimulant and non-stimulant medications are options. Stimulant prescriptions require regular visits and follow federal and New Hampshire rules, including state monitoring program checks.
