Supporting Newmarket students and families
Families with children at Newmarket Junior-Senior High School and Newmarket Elementary School come to us when struggles start to affect learning, friendships or home life. With your consent we can share clinical information for a 504 plan or IEP meeting.
Not sure where to start? Book a psychiatric evaluation in Newmarket, learn about telehealth psychiatry or contact our team.
Family-centered treatment
Plans may include parent guidance, therapy referral, school recommendations and, only when likely to help, medication with careful monitoring of growth, sleep and appetite.
Living in Newmarket
Newmarket's old mill buildings now hold apartments, restaurants and small businesses, and many residents work at UNH or across the Seacoast. Video visits make it easy to keep appointments around work.
How the evaluation works
Parents share the history first. The psychiatrist then spends time with the child, using conversation or play for younger children and private time for teens. With your permission we gather input from teachers, counselors and the pediatrician.
Getting care from Newmarket
From Newmarket, our Salem office is about 45 minutes by car. Many Newmarket patients choose secure video for most visits and come to Salem when an in-person appointment adds something.
Frequently asked questions
Can child visits be by video?
Many can. The psychiatrist may ask to see your child in person at times.
What ages do you see?
Children from age 4 and teens through 17, continuing into adulthood.
How should I explain the visit to my child?
Keep it simple: a doctor who helps with feelings, worries or focus wants to get to know them.
Is there a PsychNashua office in Newmarket?
