Supporting Laconia students and families
Families with children at Laconia High School and Laconia Middle School come to us when struggles start to affect learning, friendships or home life. With your consent we can share clinical information for a 504 plan or IEP meeting. Older teens heading to Lakes Region Community College or elsewhere can continue with us while they are in New Hampshire.

How the evaluation works
Parents share the history first. The psychiatrist then spends time with the child, using conversation or play for younger children and private time for teens. With your permission we gather input from teachers, counselors and the pediatrician.
Living in Laconia
Laconia's year runs on two speeds: a crowded summer around the lakes and a much quieter winter. Seasonal work, changing routines and long dark months can affect sleep and mood. Most Laconia patients see us by secure video, which removes the long drive south.
Signs a child may need an evaluation
- Attention or behavior problems that teachers keep raising
- Worry, stomachaches or refusing to go to school
- Sadness, irritability or withdrawal lasting several weeks
- Frequent meltdowns or aggression
- Big changes in sleep, eating or grades
- Social difficulties or very rigid routines
Getting care from Laconia
Our office is in Salem, about an hour and 15 minutes from Laconia, so most Laconia patients see us by secure video from home. When an in-person visit is needed, we plan it so the trip is worthwhile.
