Supporting Keene students and families
Families with children at Keene High School and Keene Middle School come to us when struggles start to affect learning, friendships or home life. With your consent we can share clinical information for a 504 plan or IEP meeting. Older teens heading to Keene State College or elsewhere can continue with us while they are in New Hampshire.

Living in Keene
Keene is the center of the Monadnock Region, with a college population, a regional hospital and many people working in education and healthcare. With our office about an hour and a half away, Keene patients usually see us by secure video, which also helps during winter weather on Route 101.
Teenagers
Teens are seen with respect for their growing independence. We explain confidentiality and its limits at the start, so both the teen and parents know what will be shared.
Getting care from Keene
Our office is in Salem, about an hour and a half from Keene, so most Keene patients see us by secure video from home. When an in-person visit is needed, we plan it so the trip is worthwhile.
Frequently asked questions
Will my child need medication?
Not automatically. It is considered only when it is likely to help.
Can child visits be by video?
Many can. The psychiatrist may ask to see your child in person at times.
Does a parent need to attend?
Yes, a parent or legal guardian must take part for patients under 18.
Can I have a video visit while I am in Vermont?
No. Our psychiatrists are licensed in New Hampshire, so you must be physically in New Hampshire during a video visit.
