Supporting Hudson students
Families from Hudson's elementary schools, Hudson Memorial School and Alvirne High School come to us when a child's struggles start to affect learning or friendships. With your consent we can share clinical information to support a 504 plan or IEP and suggest practical strategies for the classroom.
Hudson families often have children at Alvirne High School who are balancing academics with sports or career and technical programs. Stress, sleep and mood are common themes we help with.
Not sure where to start? Book a psychiatric evaluation in Hudson, see our telehealth psychiatry option, or contact our team.
How we work with children and teens
Parents share the history first. The psychiatrist then spends time with the child, using conversation or play for younger children and private time for teens. With your permission we gather input from teachers, counselors and the pediatrician, and we build a plan that works at home and at school.
Signs a child may need an evaluation
- Attention or behavior problems that teachers keep raising
- Worry, stomachaches or refusing to go to school
- Sadness, irritability or withdrawal lasting several weeks
- Frequent meltdowns or aggression
- Changes in sleep, eating or grades
- Social difficulties or very rigid routines
